We are in the actual business of summoning absolute stans for imaginary places that feel more real than the chair you are sitting on.
The trouble is, most of these groups are currently trying to meet on a highway. You stand there, waving your story like a sacred text, while people rush past looking for coffee, or dragons, or pulled by something louder than you.
We need a moment to get off the crazy bumper-cars of social media, and create a Hobbiton-style festival instead. LegendHaven is what happens when someone hands you a megaphone and says, “Right. You. Speak.”
For the weekend of May 2-3, challenge your fans to come hang out with you, and read your stories aloud with you! They take the voices of your characters, like a table-read for a movie.
You’ve got to admit: that’s the coolest (and easiest) way to give your fans the most incredible experience ever, short of renting out a cafe and coming in costume.
Tell your readers and fans that you (and us!) need to know what they think about stories, movies, books, and games. What are their interests? What do they want more of in the world?
Guaranteed, your fans want to meet each other, and hang out with you. And not in a mild, polite, “please share your ideas” sort of way, where everyone waits for them to be done because no one actually cares.
What a gift to give your fans 😊
LegendHaven is a haven for legends. Some are authors, some are readers, some are fans. And we need to know what everyone thinks.
And you’re not alone on this stage. Other authors stand beside you! I’m hosting four YouTube livestreams to promote you and your worlds and your ideas.
At LegendHaven, readers and fans move between worlds like travelers portaling across realms. And when the weekend ends, your stage segment is recorded, clipped, and published online, free. Your name, your work, your link, anchored to something that looks bigger than all of us.
Which, conveniently for your impostor syndrome, it is.
With this unusual convention, where readers and fans are the heart of the action, you are no longer guessing what people want. You part of the conversation with it.
There is, however, one small catch. Stages have limited space.
The expo is wide open for you to bring your book and summon your fans for an experience they will never forget: taking the voices of your characters and bringing them to life.
So. Bring your world. Summon your fans. Get on the schedule for May 2–3.
